An expat living alone in Busan, South Korea, is troubled by the repeated messages he receives from an anonymous sender, accusing him of failing to comply with the mandatory recycling policy. Determined, he resolves to uncover the identity concealed behind the veil.
Director’s statetment:
I spent my 2024 living and studying in Busan. Before departing, Hong Kong introduced a new waste charging scheme which was eventually suspended. During my time in Busan, I was amazed by the advanced and dedicated recycling practices in Korea, witnessing not only the effectiveness of their policies but also the pervasive attitude and social influence exerted by the Koreans. Despite these advancements, the ingrained habit of plastic consumption remains largely unchanged, people turn a blind eye to the emphasis of waste reduction at the source. This realization has sparked contemplation on the essence of our recycling actions and the true impact we have on our environment and cohabiting friends. This film was made with a nano budget and sustainability was taken into account during production.
